Privacy Policy
What 040 FUEL NOW collects when you ask for roadside fuel help, why, who handles it, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
- Customer details: name, mobile number and email address.
- Vehicle details: make, model, year, registration, fuel type and what happened.
- Location details: the address or description you give us, and access notes.
- Booking, quote, payment status and receipt records.
- Basic technical data your browser sends, and anonymous usage measurement only if enabled and you have consented.
Technician location
If a technician chooses to share their position for a confirmed job, it is collected only while their page is open in the foreground and is used to show you travel status. It is optional, and it is not an arrival guarantee.
Payment cards
This website does not collect or store your card number. Card payments are taken on a payment page run by Stripe. We receive the payment result and a reference.
How we use it
To assess whether we can help, quote honestly, take payment, dispatch a technician, send booking messages, keep required records, prevent misuse and answer questions.
Who handles data for us
- Stripe: payment processing.
- Resend: sending email notifications.
- Clerk: owner and technician sign-in.
- Our hosting and database providers: storing and serving the service. Some providers may process data outside Australia.
We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
These periods are our configured business settings, not statements of what the law requires:
- Requests never paid: 30 days.
- Customer details for paid bookings: 365 days.
- Financial and inventory records: 2555 days.
After these periods, customer details are anonymised. Finance and inventory figures are kept without identifying you.
Your choices
You can ask to access or correct your information, or ask us to delete it. Deletion is subject to the financial retention period above and to any active job. We will tell you what we can remove and what must be kept. If you are unhappy with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
